"Achter de Tuinmuur" vertelt het verhaal van twee broers, Wirt en Greg, die zijn verdwaald in het Onbekende. Dat is een vreemd bos dat is losgeslagen in de tijd. Met hulp van een wijze, oude houthakker en de slechtgehumeurde blauwe vogel Beatrice moeten Wirt en Greg door dit vreemde land reizen, in de hoop dat ze de weg naar huis vinden.
