Wanneer een deep space-vrachtschip beschadigd raakt door een zonnevlam, strandt de bemanning op een prachtige maar meedogenloze planeet. Tijdens hun stranding komt de bemanning steeds meer te weten over de planeet en zijn ware aard. Diverse pogingen om van de planeet te ontsnappen zijn mislukt. De kans op overleving neemt met de dag af. Toch is de bemanning ervan overtuigd dat redding nabij is.
