Het levensverhaal over de beroemde rocker Elvis Presley. Geboren in een arm gezin in Mississippi, wist Elvis door zijn talent en uiterlijk zijn omgeving ontvluchten. Op zijn 21ste werd hij al de koning van de rock 'n roll genoemd, door zijn unieke stijl en geweldige succes. Zijn carrière en privé-leven kenden echter de nodige problemen door zijn overbezorgde moeder, zijn niet al te soepel lopende liefdesleven en zijn dominante manager Colonel Parker.
