Meedogenloze moordende piraten heersen over de zeeën, en alleen de sterkste hebben de kans om aanspraak te maken op de mythische schat die bekend staat als 'One Piece' die werd achtergelaten door de grootste piraat van allemaal, Gol D. Roger. Jaren na de dood van Roger droomt een jonge jongen met de naam Monkey D. Luffy ervan zijn eigen bemanning groot te brengen, One Piece te vinden en zichzelf uit te roepen tot piratenkoning. Na het eten van een duivelsfruit dat Luffy de kracht geeft om zijn lichaam als rubber te maken, geeft het hem enorme kracht en behendigheid. Wanneer Luffy eindelijk volwassen is, vertrekt hij vanuit Foosha Village in East Blue en begint aan zijn grootse avontuur om de volgende piratenkoning te worden.
